can deformation features be used for ingame destruction?

Hi

I am just wondering, and i cant see why not, if you can use the real-time deformation features of PLSM to create holes from explosions in your game??

*EDIT* More to the point could you change the terrain so there was a hole, change the texture of that area and update the pyhics to let it know the terrain had changed??
