This is an awesome video showing what havok is able todo with your GPU.

http://gamegreen.blogspot.com/2006/09/h ... -demo.html

The video shows a scene with 30.000!!! Boxes or meshes falling down a terrain.
The Havok-thing is able todo all the things that physX can do, also fluids and stuff.
This is a hard decision: Wait for physx until it is more populated or save the money for a new GPU....

This could be a hard competition Havok vs. PhysX..^^

Problem is; The GPU stuff cannot be passed back to the CPU. So the GPU effects are only limited to non-game play elements. A PPU doesn't have this problem.

Besides I don't see an NxOgre version of Havok around do you?

p.s. You might want to see what PhysX 2.6.0 has; Give you a clue - deformable bodies.

mhh what do you mean, what do you mean with game-play element?

In the video is a small scene with a character, or a game-scene.

Yeah, yeah, but i think, that we need to talk about the "rivals", even if we are going to investigate the advantages of physx and decide that havok sucks..^^

And jeah i already saw that video about this deforming stuff, and of course its quite impressive.

And i still hold on physX, because the name is cooler than havok..^^
No, i think both system have advantages and disadvantages.
In the end we'll see which one is the best......

Non-gameplay elements just mean visual things; Newspapers blowing around, flags and junk on the floor.
