Hello,
I'm trying to pack nxOgre for installation, we have developed our physics component using 0.9.
Ageia is offering a small installer, which is critical for the project but its only for 2.8. AFAIK 2.8 is not supported on nxOgre 0.9. My many questions:
What version does 0.9 support?
Does bleeding age supports 2.8?
If so, how stable is it?
Is there a small installer for previous versions?
I read most of the threads and couldn't find an answer, and I apologize if I missed it.
Edit: Read the FAQs
Any idea whats the time frame for the 2.8 fix?
Thanks a lot

There is an mini-installer for 2.7.3, I can see it.
PhysX_Game_installer_273.msi(The small installer)
Underneath the 280 installer link, you'll see a "more" link, there they are there.
But for your questions:
- 0.9 supports 2.7.3
- Bleeding does support 2.8.0
- Bleeding is stable but the interface has changed so behaviour for some users upgrading may be unpredictable.
- Yes, see above.
- There won't be a 2.8.0 fix for bleeding.

Thanks for the info and the promptness. "more..." definitively escaped me.
So based on that most of my questions are irrelevant, I'll go 2.7.3 and wait a bit for Bleeding Edge. We are in early stage development and I don't anticipate any problems with the interface changing.
Thanks again.

PD: I was refering to the 2.8 fix for 0.9 that is mentioned on the FAQ.

I know, my answer had a typo. I meant "0.9".

Oh ok. Like I said we will stick to 2.7.3. Would you mind one more question?
I had to copy a few dlls (nxCooking, etc...) to where my exe is, should I include them in my distribution or will they be provided by the small install.
You are doing a great job, BTW

In my recent experience you don't need the PhysXDriver.dll or NxCooking.dll, but the NxCharacterController.dll is required in 0.9 due to it being linked and used in the code.
In Bleeding, you won't need them at all.

PhysXDriver I'm pretty sure comes with the install, so I'll try by including NxCharacterController.dll only. We're about to go character next week or so, is it worth it to do it for 0.9 and then rewrite for Bleeding Edge?
Sorry about all the questions, you've been extremely gracious.
Cheers

Stick with 0.9 for a while until the Character controller has been completed in Bleeding.

Will do, thanks!
