The game I'm working was originally titled Legends of Tacendia but that game has since been put on hold. Currently, I'm working on adding features to the PLM2 Map Editor, and specifically working on a framework called GOOF (Game Object Oriented Framework) which handles many complex tasks for game development. The general framework isn't tied directly into PLM2 although there will be an implementation of it that is specific to PLM2.

Here are older screenshots of Legends of Tacendia from March 2005:

Once the editor and GOOF framework are in place, I'll resume work on my game.

Ember also uses the PLSM.
Read more here.

There's also some additional screenshots over at http://amber.worldforge.org/ember/screenshots/ .

I'm only just getting started with Ogre, but ultimately I'd like to integrate my vegetation renderer with PLSM2. Right now I'm trying to figure out how the basics work and what I'd need to do to, but it seems as if I could abuse most of the splatting shader stuff for my own purposes.

I basically just need the terrain sized base texture, one or two smaller textures and shader model 3.0 vs/ps.

Since I can't seem to directly include my images, (old) screen shots of the vegetation stuff can be found here and here.

Cheers,

I`m slowly developing a RTS using plsm2. On my own, for the purpose of learning and fun :)

There are some screenshots on my website:

Btw, why are there so few replies? PLSM2 is a really cool plugin and I guess there are much more developers out there using it. We should at least encourage Tuan for doing such a great work for free, so POST! :D

Here's what I have:

I should add that it also has accurate collision detection for PhysX. Its about 4km across and LOD was set to 0 so the frame rate is a bit low there.

Using 16-bit raw heightmaps really makes a difference.

PLSM is awkward to use, but once you have it running it rocks!

Wow, looks like terrain generated from WM? I'm very interested in your process.

I use world machine, export a 16-bit raw, then load it into freeworld3d to smooth terrain and generate alphamaps. I just export the alpha maps and heightmap from freeworld and use that. The texture mode is TextureFormat=PLSplattingShaderLit.

The scene looks really cool!

Can you tell us what size/resolution heightmap and textures you use and what your .cfg files look like for the mapsplitter and PLSM2?

My game titled "Arcane Earth" is currently in development using PLSM2. It is a univeristy group project in whcih I am handling all the terrain, input, camera etc. Will post some screns when it's in a state to be shown!

Hi Guys,

Another new kid on the block.
Hum, maybe this is a good place to start my posts on my needs here since to start off with I need to get my terrains into Ogre. /smiles....

The first step as we know is to get a good terrain to start to build with. I had thought we would have a GUI now as a world editor that works for Ogre, but as yet, me or my programmer has not found one, bummer. If there one out there that works good yet? I need a link /winks.

OK, I have been using L3DT and terragen for most terrain needs as I can get most file format to go out, ok. I can export out to TGEA, fine, but there ATLAS editor still is so wonky I got fed up and walked away from GG. Problem is how the frack do I get them into Ogre?? from what I have been reading it's this tool right? Well I have 16 bit raw files up the yang Ho, so I am good there, enough terrains for 10 video games right now /winks....no chit hahaha rotfl.

But my programmer partner read that maybe I can bring in terrains just as a .ter file. Is that the same file format that a Terragen file is, or is some one using the same file extension? I have seen that one before and it got me all messed up, haha.

This forum looks promising and I am wanting to try this LPSM and see if it can work for me, but didn't see the download for it or a tutorial on how to use it, any links other then screens of peoples work?

I am making Huge terrain worlds, with massive Texture maps that go up to 8192 at the smallest and the Torgue engine can take em when it is not buggy, so I figure that Ogre should be able to do it much better, and easier I am hoping.

So in closing here, is there a world editor that can build from Terrain to export out the whole scene with Ogre?, I have just installed O'fusion and that should help some, but I really want to bring in all my files directly into the Ogre engine if possible.

here are some screens of my craft and what I need to bring in via a World editor. Sky boxes, atmo, and all the rest to get the feeling I want in world.
Some pretty Pictures to share my craft and what I need to get into Ogre.
Various stages of Dev for the terrain files.
