Found this neat paper about the engine tech behind starcraft 2...

I read the 2/3 of it one week ago.
It's full of interesting details.
They use a deferred shader, but transparent object are forward lightened with only 2 lights.
It seems they created a framework that allowed the graphists to produce themselves the shaders, and not the developers.
