As far as I understand, Dagon is a branch, Ogre3d 1.2.5 [Dagon] being different from Ogre3d 1.2.5

and yes Ogre3d 1.2.5 is on sourceforge,
but Ogre3d 1.2.5 [Dagon] is nowhere on the net

am I wrong ?

I am not following you. Why should they be different? The Ogre3D version 1.2.5 was named "Dagon" and that is the one from the SourceForge link posted above.

Every major release of Ogre from 1.0.0 onwards has a name from Lovecraft.
1.0.x is called Azathoth.
1.2.x is called Dagon.
1.4.x is called Eihort.
1.6.x is called Shoggoth.
1.7.x is called Cthugha. (We switched to both odd and even version numbers here)
1.8.x is called Byatis.
1.9.x is called Ghadamon.
2.0.x is called Tindalos.

1.2.5 is the .5 update version of the Dagon (1.2.x) branch.

Every release of Ogre 1.2.x is part of Dagon even if it's not in the filename.
