Should 'Local Location' be selected for bone in Blender

Should 'Local Location' be selected for bone in Blender
In an armature, usually the axis of a bone is not aligned to the global world axis, sometimes opposite. Should the 'local location' be used when posing the armature? (When playing with the F-Curve Editor). Will the choice affect the processing in ogre3D engine ?
