ogre_src_v1-8-1.exe is malicious and Chrome has blocked it

Hi,

I tried downloading ogre_src_v1-8-1.exe via Chrome, however I get the message "ogre_src_v1-8-1.exe is malicious and Chrome has blocked it."

There is no option to keep the file, however by checking the download folder it reports an SHA-1: e2d7e1bad606e4db2ce5378d7b992f0007b96663

This file originates from http://downloads.sourceforge.net/projec ... v1-8-1.exe

Downloading again a second time and it gets the all clear????

The page https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/8835 ... /analysis/ reports possibly Worm/Win32.WhiteIce, but um, somehow I doubt it.

I'm thinking Chrome is starting to be a bit overly aggressive in preventing people from downloading files.

Maybe might need to start signing them?

i think that what chrome is trying to tell you is that you should use the newer stable ogre 1.9

Actually we are still using v1.8.0 in our software.

Avast isn't showing anything wrong with it.

The safest thing is to grab the 1.8.1 branch source directly from the official bitbucket repository using Mercurial or SourceTree.

Point is, it's getting difficult to download executable files nowadays, even from high profile popular projects.
