Heretic Kingdoms: Reluctant Hero

Post by elesgal »

Hi fellow Ogre users,

let me introduce you our new RPG game from the world of Heretic Kingdoms.

The game is pure Ogre, using only the default scenemanager, some pretty postprocessing, little shader work and a few magic tricks ;-)

These two screenshots are from the current tech-demo.

Wow, that looks awesome!

Just curious, is the camera fixed, or how does it work?

That is incredible :) looks like a similar (but better graphiced) game to Titan Quest, the game I blame soley for the slow progress I make on my projects as of late. I can't wait to try this when its released.

Really nice shots. I like the lighting effect on the tree in the second shot.

No it is full 3d, you can rotate the camera and zoom
the controls are similar to dungeon siege

about the performance, with full details on, it runs around 20 - 25 fps on Radeon 9700 Pro and 1Gb of memory

Yes, it is a must, cause the game features seamless day/night shift and season change according to the ingame date. We build a level for summer and the engine is capable to change it to winter/autumn/spring
Fakamaz wrote:I wonder how many dynamic objects you have on a scene?
It is a combination of static geometry and entities for animated objects like the foliage, trees, grass... The level itself is tile based and is build by our inhouse WYSIWYG map editor. We have plans to release this map editor later to the Ogre community.

To read something about the game itself please check the blog of our main designer here:
