Escape from Toxic Swamps

Post by igorvlassov »

It's a simple free arcade game for iPhone in toppler style.
There is the trailer.
And it's available in iTunes at last!
Check it please.
And don't hesitate to tap ads, help fellow developer please :)

Is it made using Ogre? Looks like a nice evolution of Frogger http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frogger

Cool! How do you like Ogre on iPhone? Is it easy to get it to work there, or are there all kinds of difficulties in getting an Ogre game to be good enough to release on iPhone?

Nope it is really easy todo there are many titles which are using it (a few i know are not known to the public). A bit more work is android but also doable an infact its getting better :)

@Areay
Yes, it's made using ogre. It's evolution of Perestroika Toppler game: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perestroika_(video_game)
@Oogst
I should say there some sorts of difficulties.
First, psychologic: the gameplay is quite different. For example, if you try to aim in PC shooter using mouse, it's fun but if you can shot monster simply tap it, it's too easy & boring. So many types of games require significant gameplay change during migration.
The second aspect is a lack of RAM & CPU resources.
And the last & significant for me is iOS main language is Obj-C. So I should to call all non-Ogre stuff like sounds, Ads, music & videoplayer in the other my Ogre3d based iOS game from main delegate Obj-C class. So I learnt Obj-C. Not too big pleasure :)
