Yomi's Bubble Adventure

Post by Orobu »

Hello everyone! I wanted to showcase our student game project "Yomi's Bubble Adventure" which is built using Ogre and Bullet. You play as Yomi, a young cat girl who has gotten a mysterious staff from her grandfather that can blow magical bubbles. Yomi will use her staff to help creatures in a magical world.

This video is the results of one and a half months of hard work (project deadline is in two weeks!):

This is the first time any of us are using either Ogre or Bullet and we loving it! Learning as we go.

Other plugins and software we use for this game:
OgreOggSound
PagedGeometry
BtOgre
ArtifexTerra

That's pretty impressive for 1.5 months of work. Nice job.

Thanks everyone! I'm very glad you like it :) Working with Ogre has been very challenging and great fun at the same time. If nothing else, a great learning experience!
Today we released our trailer for the game, as a requirement for the university course:

It's not the latest, as a lot has happened since we recorded the trailer, both gameplay and visual.

We will exhibit it on our schools conference GGC (http://www.gotlandgameconference.com/2013/) in about one week. I'll put it up for download here after.

As promised we have put Yomi's Bubble Adventure up for download and you can grab it here:
Download Yomi's Bubble Adventure!
There is a readme file with instructions but make sure you run the executable in Windows XP Compatibility Mode if you are on Vista/Win7. Besides that everything should be straighforward.

I also made a new video showing the game in it's final stage, which is very different from before:

If you have any comments or feedback I will be happy to hear them :D
Thanks :)

Thanks! :) Let's just say we spent more than a regular nine-to-five hours, five days a week time schedule. Especially at the end :)

As others have said, great work especially for the very short time frame.
