Germany at War Barbarossa 1941 turnbased strategy game

Post by ZWF/pdx »

Hello Ogre users,

our game 'Germany at War Barbarossa 1941' was announced today. It combines Ogre3D with CEGUI in several variations.

Here are the first screenshots:

Nice work.

Can you give any details for the game? For instance, is it for two players online or one player versus the computer? Can you play as the Soviet Union? How do you plan to release the game?

Thanks for the commendation.
There is a Multiplayer option via server build in as well as playing against the AI. You can play four Axis campaigns and fourteen single maps either as Axis or Soviet Union.

The game will be published by Matrix Games, the product page can be found here:

Hello,

Thanks :D

Its roots are definitly in that classic series though it differs in many ways the same.

For instance we have different combat influences(flanking, readiness etc.), formations, support units and much more to offer.

Still its easy to handle/access, you simply have more tactical variety as you get deeper into it.

Hei!
Really cool, finally turn based war game :) I've been waiting for one since Steel panthers: world at war and mbt. Integrated PBEM is very nice, in 'good' old days you had to send the PBEM files manually.

thanks and sorry for the late reply, we were busy finishing the game. It will be released tomorrow and here are some infos and thoughts about the development:

Indeed the new system of playing PBEM via server offers a lot of advantages, first being ease of use of course.
