Duh.

But seriously, why I changed my mind about the death animation: Even with swords, the current SDK is completely devoid of animated violence / animated death (since he could be chopping veggies or cutting hair) and I think it's best to keep it that way. Besides, I'd have to make something that kills him in the sample. But I see how the lack of a death animation could limit the model's usefulness in a real game. Well I suppose I could distribute the Blender file with the model and people can add whatever they want?

Now that would be most welcome! :D

Here he is in a sample I've been working on for the sample browser:

It used to be the ninja, but I might add ninjas as npcs instead. :)

One more, this is him using a custom cavalier projection camera matrix (ultima 7 style camera):

And one of ultima 7 for those who have never seen a cavalier projection game:

I'm sure the owners of the house will be glad of that. :)

Hmm, the sample tudor house model might look better if stretched on the x and z axes. It's a bit tall and thin.

Yah, I wanted to use him in an RTS game I was making. Oddly enough, the placeholder never winter nights models don't have death animations either. I'm curious what happens when you actually kill them in the game.

I'm sure many people would be greatful for the blender files, although in all honesty it would be hard to match the current quality of animations you've already made for him. All you really need is a death animation to make him usable in a wide range of scenarios. Anyways, thanks for sharing the work you've done! :D

I was thinking a game in a similar style to Ankh, but with Ogres, and pirates. :D

Like in Oblivion, when you 'overkill' on the last hit and send your enemy flying through the air, and crashing into stuff. Pretty cool. :)

Very cool model! Especially the animations look top notch. Gotta check out the sample, guess I can learn a ton about animation with Ogre there.

Just a small error in the readme:
You do not need to give credit to the artist, but it would be appreciated. =)
According to the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 Unported License you *do* have to - must - give attribution (credit) to the artist.
I suggest that you take that line out. :)

Thanks, but it's the awesomeness of the Ogre
Anyway i want to use him for real as a boss in a medieval level, but the license states i can't use it for commercial... in the end this is possible or not?

_tommo_, if you plan to sell your game, I'm afraid you can't include the character model in it. :( I also won't be accepting payment for this model for commercial use. It's free, period. Cameo appearances would usually involve you making your own version of the character to appear in your game. Just to be clear, the license is not on the concept of the Sinbad character, but on the actual model. You can make references to Sinbad and have a picture / your own model of him in a commercial game, for example. It'd be awesome and flattering to see Sinbad in your game, but to be fair, I don't want to make any exceptions. Sorry. :(
