What's the deal with these artifacts?

What's the deal with these artifacts?

Post by Grognard »

Image

I made another thread somewhat earlier with a similar problem. This is viewed through OgreMeshy so it should be up to date ogre version and all that.

When I rotate around I get little patches showing up on everything, depending on the angle. Actually it's not everything but it's some stuff...very odd. Any ideas?

A bit had to tell from the picture, but maybe you have depth fighting caused by duplicate faces.

No, there's nothing to depth fight.

Or at any rate that would be a weird way to show up. The suit is one submesh. The human is another. The human is all one piece, though, and the suit does not have this artifact. Some items do, some seem not to.

When I move around these odd patches jump all over the skin.

Are there any you could post here (or send to one of us) to check out?
It certainly looks like z fighting between two copies of the head (one with material, one that's defaulting to BaseWhite).
Or could be a shader issue, if you are using shaders.

All right, I see what's going on now. Looks like I keep selecting "export all" instead of "export selected" and it's exporting some garbage I didn't mean to. Sorry to bother you guys.
