The FX plugin offers realtime 3D effects for the Ogre 3D rendering engine. It is a combination of C++ code, textures, materials, shaders and other resources and together they offer effects that are a great addition to your scene. With a simple, unique interface you create smoke, fire, explosions, snow, rain, etcetera, right out-of-the-box with no hassle at all. The philosophy behind this is to "insert your scene effect and press play". With the use of the ´Core´ effects in combination with the xml- and envelope- files it is easy to create them yourself, without any code. Although this plugin is still in its infancies, expect that new features and content will be added.

The FX plugin and part of the resources are licenced under LGPL (some third party (NVidia / ATI) resources excluded).

Note, that this plugin has nothing to do with the directx .fx format.
