Installing the Ogre SDK On Linux

This section is for developers willing to install a precompiled Software Development Kit (SDK) under Linux platform.

Packages are available for Debian, Fedora and Ubuntu.

Unix users typically compile their own sources for almost all software, including Ogre. However pre-built binaries are available for a handful of distributions. See below for yours.
If you don't find your package, and really don't want to build from source you may be able to convert one of these packages with something like alien.

Gentoo, being a source distribution, doesn't offer binary Ogre packages in GRP.<br /> However, Ogre is available in portage, though still masked.<br /> <br /> See Gentoo section in Building from Source.
