Utilities

Plugins

  • Commercial Add-on Project Lee's plug-in allows Ogre to render a first depth pass so hardware occlusion query and early z out works.
  • Particle Universe Particle system plugin, with more features and possibilities than Ogre's build-in particle plugin.
  • Caelum An easy-to-use sky and atmosphere plug-in/library for Ogre.

Frameworks

  • GUCEF - cross-platform framework, LGPL license, used by the GUCE engine which uses Ogre. Aims to provide complete O/S abstraction with easy to use well-designed OO facilities. It has no dependencies of its own. Fully extensible and plugable.
  • Solar Framework - A framework for working with Ogre. It does not depend on any libraries other than Ogre and CEGUI, thus consider it a framework instead of an engine (sound, net, physics, etc).
  • Game Object Oriented Framework - The Game Object Oriented Framework (GOOF) provides generic object handling functionality, extending Ogre's existing systems.
  • Shattered Ruby - A MVC-based framework designed for fast development of games. Inspired by Ruby on Rails.
  • PeerOS - The Peer Object Subscriber set of classes help us set up an Observer (aka Publisher-Subscriber) design pattern. This solves the problem of complex message handling in a large C++ application with many small pieces.

Engines

  • GUCE - cross-platform engine, LGPL generic engine, build ontop of GUCEF and Ogre.
  • The YAKE Engine - cross-platform, LGPL licensed VR and game engine. Genre-independent with a rich feature set. Also available for multiple-licenses, if LGPL does not fit your needs (similar to GarageGame's OpenTnL). (Heavy Development, Fully useable, currently active)
  • NeoAxis Engine - is an all-purpose, modern 3D graphics engine for 3D simulations, visualizations and games.
  • SagaEngine - multi-platform game engine. Ogre version under heavy development
  • OGE - Open Game Engine - Cross-platform, Only LGPL for now, game-engine for multi-genre. (Started Jan 06 - Planning phase)
  • WGE - Wreckedgames Engine - From the creator of TheoraVideo pluging and OIS, comes WGE. A script (Squirrel) driven engine. It is licensed under the GPL, alternative license will be availiable. Early development.
  • StemCell Engine - a full game engine created with Ogre

Other

  • DefColStudio - Interactive Deformable Modeling Framework, a very impressive physics demo using Ogre and CEGUI.
  • Rumble Game Framework - (for now) it is a collection of small tools/libraries for generic use (very young)
  • CViewVR - A visualization environment with sonar sensor simulation for underwater vehicles which are navigated by external behavior simulators.
