Support for machine with no Hardware Acceleration?

Hi,
I'm new to Ogre.. I was wondering, does Ogre support machines that don't have Hardware Acceleration?

I.E. if they have not hardware it drops back to the Microsoft/Sun OpenGL software driver or the DirectX Reference driver..
