Just a tad off topic, but I figured I would share in my joy and progress of my ODN-based MMORPG.

Hi EagelEye,

Without even knowing about your ODN-based MMORPG server (the link didn't work  ) I'm happy to hear success stories !!!

May your MMORPG server keep serving until it's served it's last required serve. Massively.

Cheers,

G.

The link works... don't know why it's not working for you.

Link doesn't work for me either. Pinging that site returns host could not be found.

I think it isn't a server problem, because the link has always worked for me :?:

Falagard is in Canada... GregH is in Australia... could be a problem with non-domestic DNS or something... *shrugs*...

Here... I post copy here:

To prepare for the arrival of the server, I had to first make room on my desk. This meant cleaning it up! It had been awhile since I had cleaned my computer area, so it was quite a mess.

Here we see the cleanup effort about halfway done. The plan is to put the box monitor (the server's monitor) to the left, and the new flat panel 17" monitor to the right. Both boxes will go to the far right corner.

Believe it or not, a whole lot more junk used to be on this desk. On and around the desk there was enough junk to fill 2 kitchen garbage bags.

As you can see, I'm preparing by putting the box monitor to the left. At this point, the server parts hadn't arrived yet (they were due the next morning).

AND HERE THEY ARE!

I unpacked it all and laid it all out on the kitchen table.

From left to right we have:
  1. ATI Radeon 9600 256MB for my main system to replace my ATI Radeon 9200 128MB.[/*:m]
  2. AMD fan, with the AMD Athlon 64 CPU just to the right of it.[/*:m]
  3. Above the fan is the case, of course. 450W PS in that.[/*:m]
  4. In the greenish package is 1GB Corsair ValueSelect DDR[/*:m]
  5. Western Digital 120GB SATAII drive[/*:m]
  6. Above that, 17" flat panel monitor.[/*:m]
  7. Gigabyte socket 939 motherboard.[/*:m][/list:u]
Here's the guts all put together

    And the final setup!

The big blue thing is a flashlight... one of those 4-D-Cell maglights.

Dirty napkins though? That's a paper towel that's dirty because I used it to dust the table and my old monitor... quite filthy.

And the lotion... get yer mind out of the gutter. :) My hands get so dry they crack and bleed sometimes...
