OGRE supports .dae format?

Hi all,
I'm totally new to 3d graphic processing and OGRE as well.
I'm trying to build a demo program on VS 2005 which can Load and Display a 3D file in .dae (COLLADA - COLLAborative Design Activity) format.
It's possible?!

Maybe open it with blender, and then use the ogre export tool.

I had some problems with python with blender 2.49, and blender 2.57 crashed... Maybe for the same reason.
