[Solved] OGRE EXCEPTION(13:): Failed to open audio device

Hi,

Everything was working fine until my computer crashed and I had to change my motherboard and my CPU. Now, when I start my project (run it) I got this exception:
OGRE EXCEPTION(13:): Failed to open audio device in SoundManager.cpp: ctor
Any idea why?
BTW: My onboard sound devide is working properly.

Have you installed the OpenAL Drivers again? If you have then you might check to see if there are updated drivers for you onboard sound card available.

It thought I just had to copy the OpenAL.dll to the program folder. So do I have to run the oalinst.exe with my installer?

There are actually a couple of files that it places on your system and the easiest way is to run the installer. You can have a look at this thread for more information on OpenAL's license.
