Can't run demo

I downloaded the demo and followed the minimal instructions as best I could:
"Unzip, run mapsplitter, run demo, Hit F1 for help"

I unzipped the datasrcs.zip and extracted it to what seems to be the proper location in the demo folder: media\paginglandscape2\datasrcs contains the files.

MapSplitter.exe crashes. Demo_PagingLandScape2.exe can't find any folders.

Are there instructions that I've missed somewhere, or some assumed knowledge? I'd appreciate any suggestions on getting the demo to run.
