PLSM/GOOF status with Eihort?

Hi all,

I'm wondering what the status of the PLSM and GOOF projects is relative to Eihort. I see a post from tuan kuranes in December which suggests that he was aiming to release PLSM3 around the same time as Eihort (but that it is unlikely). The wiki also says that GOOF needs Dagon and doesn't work with Eihort, and that Falagard is working on the next version.

I certainly don't mind waiting, I would just rather avoid investing a week or two learning the current versions if a new one is just around the corner :) I'm new to Ogre, so there are lots of other things I can learn in the meanwhile.

I also don't have any definite goals or deadlines, my main goal right now is to learn, so I don't mind getting my hands dirty :P Since I'm unfamiliar with the code base I doubt I could be of much help coding, but I wouldn't mind helping test against Eihort.

GOOF has been ported to Eihort, but I've renamed the engine and have made major changes to the directory structures and how it is installed so that it should be as easy as downloading a dependencies zip file and extracting it to the proper location to get it working. If you also want to build the dependencies yourself, or individual dependency projects from source, it's easier to do so now.

Also, it has been forever since I updated CVS. The editor is done in wxWidgets now instead of CEGUI, and there are a lot changes to it. I'm still working on it and am not going to release it until I'm happy with it and have some demos to show it off.

I also don't currently have the Terrain editor portion of the editor working because Tuan is working on PLM3 and PLM2 isn't compatible with Eihort. I assume you're mostly interested in the terrain editing features of GOOF so we're going to have to wait until Tuan is ready with PLM3, and then however long it takes me to get the PLM3 editor working.

I've renamed the engine
Then the gods have been listening to my prayers. :D

Aw, I liked GOOF :P

Thanks for the reply, Falagard. You're right, I am mostly interested in the terrain editor right now, though some of the game engine features sound tempting as well.

I think I'll set aside PLSM for now and dive deeper into Ogre itself. I'll be happy to help test GOOF once it's ready for public consumption :)

Is there any deadline for finishing PLSM3? I was trying to compile GOOF under Eihort but got plenty of missing include files (OgreMouseEvent.h, CEGUI/elements/CEGUIStaticImage.h, OgreEventListeners.h) - I guess this is because of the Eihort compatibility. Falagart, is this possible for You to put latest version of GOOF (or whatever name it has right now) in CVS any time soon?
Anyway - maybe I'm wrong but it looks to me that PLSM2 works with eihort. I've been able to compile it with eihort after all. Didn't check if it works correctly because I've been struggling with GOOF...

Falagard told that he won't put GOOF on CVS until he's happy with what he've got and that could still be long. (Not before PLSM3 goes out)

Will Mr. Falagard be taking questions after the release?

Nothing, I just thought it was funny to hear bibite speaking for you on a forum like a rep.

Haha I'm just answering stuff that Falagard already answered and I'm tolding that's it's coming from him. And I think it might be frustrating to Falagard to answer same questions again and again.
