Upgrading/converting the 2005 project shouldn't cause any problems.
I managed to compile Hydrax just fine on 2008.

yes, Hydrax is working fine with Visual Studio 2008 !

i did the auto conversion from vs2005 to vs2008 but i had a lot of problems, as of seen here.
there were a lot of wrong settings (windows subsystem, optimization settings overrides, etc).
it was not that hard to change/fix.
