Obtaining normals of lights

I'm in the process of writing my own dotScene exporter, and I noticed in some test dotScene files that lights have a normal element. I looked through the SceneNode and Light documentation and didn't see anything about retrieving the lights normals.

I'm probably just overlooking something, and I'll feel stupid at how obvious it is, but just how do I get the normal of a light?
