Hi,
I have animated a character but forgot to do an Xform before applying the skin modifier. Is there anyway to do an Xform without re-rigging the character.
Thanks a lot

On most cases, you can rest the XForm of the skinned character without any issues
Or you can set the pose mode and apply the reset XForm

in the stack, copy the skin modifier (right click - copy), then delete it
reset the xform and convert to editable mesh
paste the skin modifier again

Hi thanks a lot...I do not know much about max, I am a programmer, but I really try to understand what is going on in max (Even if I am not able myself to create the model).
It would be great to have a simple tutorial explaining the requirements before exporting animated characters.
We managed to export our model but we had some trouble, sometimes the xform did not work really well, and the mesh was completely messed up. Apparently, according to our 'artists', it was not as simple as only resetting the xforms. What about the pivot of the objects (mesh and skin) do they have any influence when exporting ?
Thanks a lot

The pivot of the objects are important as they define the relative position of the mesh objects, but it position should be defined depending on your project needs
Most projects use and set the pivot point of characters as the floor reference to easily positionate the character on the scene floors, using specific controller (physics, user)
