Real time shadows

Hi,

Anyone know how to do real time shadows properly. Simple geometry like boxes and planes are mostly fine but more complex meshes seem to cause a lot of artifacts. We have tried the different types of shadows but nothing seems to work.

How do we use the shadow material.
How do we use the shadow receiver and caster techniques.

Are there any tutorials and help files for any of this.

We use Ofusion pro 1.986 and Ogre 1.7.3.
