Importing from .mesh to 3ds max + Tutorial help

Hi. I was wondering if it's possible to import files from .mesh (ogre format) to .max. I tried to search but didn't find anything. I'd like to import .mesh files for testing purposes.

Thanks, Zas

PS. I've tried to do the first tutorial that comes with oFusion - the one where you texture a torus so that it receives lightning. I am very sure I did exactly as told in the tutorial, but the object still doesn't react to light.
It looks like this.
Anyone know what's wrong?

Edit: I just tried moving the omni around, but the object is fully illuminated all the time. Only when I moved it very far away from the object, the lightning changed - but it disappearead completely (the lightning of the object).

Importing of .mesh files is not enabled for practical issues, most users dont want their objects to be modified and used on other applications

For your screenshot, seems that object dont have tangent vectors

Did you activated tangent vetors for that object?

Okay then. I was just hoping to open a .mesh that comes with ogre to see how it's built.

And yes, I did activate the tangent vectors. Ticked that little box in oFusion -> object. I did everything as told in the tutorial. Unless there's something that wasn't mentioned, it should work, shouldn't it?

I changed the oFusion view shadows (oFusion -> scene) and the object did have shadows of some sort after that - but that's not what's wanted is it? Those shadows looked very clumsy, the borders were extremely sharp.

See the video tutorial, it will show you the exact steps and you can compare to your process

About the shadows, if you need soft edge shadows you should use shaders, in the wiki there is a complete article about different techniques of shadows using shaders

I looked at the video now, and realized that the problem may be that I don't have a nm.dds (instead I used nm_rt.png file which looked like the nm.dds file). Where can I get the file? I downloaded the ogre SKD some time ago, but there's no sign of that file in the folders.

The nm texture file is a normalization cubemap, it contains 6 images

Search this forum for that file, a link for it should be on a thread

Thanks for your help Lioric! Works like a charm now.
