Hey guys. A team of us are working with Ogre to create ourselves a game and we are interested in using oFusion. However, the machines we are working on are not our own, and standard users do not access Max as administrators. Is this going to cause any problems with running oFusion on Max8 SP2?
We already had a lab assistent try to install and run oFusion and he says Max quit with an error when it was loading the plugin. He suspects its the fact we are all non-admins. Is this the case? This is on up-to-date windows XP workstations.

Are you using the CE version or the Pro?
It is non dependant on the user access rights, so it should work with any user privileges where max runs

CE
That's what I would think. Is there anything in the installation that might require admin rights?

Is the issue present when loading max, or when activating the preview viewport?

im further told it has something to do with, immediately after max loads, trying to write to a read only variable.

The read only variable message is because you have the old ogre exporter installed
See this thread:

But this cant crash max
i will do another tests later with user privileges, but as noted, this should not be the issue
Can you test on a fresh max installation?

Pro version? Where can I find one?

You cannot 'find' it - you have to contact Lioric via the 'contact' page @ oFusion website. AFAIK.
