Problems in ofusion viewport and when exporting

Hi!

I have a model in 3ds Max 8 that has originally been generated with Autodesk Architectural Desktop.

In combination with ofusion I have the following problems:

1. When I try to export as Ofusion - 3ds Max crashes:

Assertion error Information:
In file:'-\ogreMeshCompiler.cpp'
Line: 98

2. The ofusion viewport looks completely weird, it seems that most of the objects lost their position.

So it seems there's something wrong with the model?!

Can you give me any hints how to get this look OK and exported? (I'm new to 3ds Max and ofusion so any help is appreciated)

regards, Sebastian

PS: I have found some posts here stating one should reset XForm but when I do this, the model get's screwed up completely

Yes, you need to Reset the Xform, and then update the viewport to actualize the new matrices

See this threads for more details:

Or post your scene and i will take a look at it

Hi!

I've tried to reset X-Form but it seems my model does not like that at all  most of the positions get lost.

However I found one solution to get the viewport look somehow ok after I attach all objects together.

But when I try to export this there is an exception caught in the log and I have no usable osm file/ meshes.

I would appreciate very much if you could check my model and maybe give me some advices on how to proceed.

did you ppl get service pack 3 for 3ds max? If not get it- might fix the problems, might not.

Thanks for the tip but it did not help. I figured that all my models coming from ADT are screwed up in ofusion when imported with VIZ renderer or (if they are coming straight from ADT) have problems when being exported with ofusion.

Here's what you need to do when you've imported Architectural Desktop (ADT) Files to 3Ds that don't work in ofusion:

1) Remove Block objects by unlinking the objects in 3Ds

2) Use a rename script to give all objects unique names, remove characters like "." "<" ">"

Rename Script: http://www.neilblevins.com/blurscripts/blurscripts.htm

3) Viewport and Export should be fine now

What I still have not figured:

How can I convert architectural materials to ofusion materials (in batch mode, with a script).

Any suggestions?
