Hi,
i have a scene from ever motion that I'm willing to bake ,
i started first with exporting the whole scene and try to view it with both OSM_Viewer and Map viewer but the Map viewer crash and when i investigated which object that made it crash i found a mesh that it's name actually it not in the scene itself .

the name of the crashed object for example is "detail_equp_08"
in the scene i have object names from detail_equp_01 to detail_equp_07
i search inside the heirachy aswell ,08 doesn't exist !!

is there a special handling for names *_number .i'm a little bit lost

the max file is around 25MB, i can upload it but not to public ,but i can send at least the renderd screen now

appreciate your help

Thanks

hehehe nice scene, but I'm very scared as to how OGRE will handle all of those heavily subdivided surfaces- the framerate would be, um questionable

it's a challenge i'm willing to handle as soon as i get it exported correctly ,the scene it not that big ,it's around 1.3 Million poly .
my 7900 will definitly can get it with a decent framerate

wow, I see it quite excesive, but you dont loose anything for trying..

anyway what I would do:
-First is to aply "optimice" modifier to the whole scene to try so simplyfi those heavy geometries
-then I would convert everyting to editable mesh.
-Resent X-form and Reset Pivot to all scene objets so that everything is "clean".
-The clean the undesired objets like, helpers etc, by selecting by type only the elements you want and deleting others. This strange crash geometry could be a helper or something like this.

-Reached here you could export again your scene and look how it works.
If still have the same problem you could select by hand the desired objets and select "save selected" (or similar comand) and create a nex max file with those selected objets and export again to see what happens.

-to make the ligth backing I would attach the objets "by area":

I would attach the building geometry.
And then the other objets like sofas & chaairs. by area.
i.e: i would attach those sofas, the tables in a single mesh, so that I obtain a single lightmap for those objets.

I would attach all the elements of the steps in a single mesh to obtain a single lightmap etc...

good luck> >> >

i searched in the log and found things like this

Exporting Object: street_124
Object has 1 texture sets
Mesh: street_124_mesh.... done
Exporting Object: street_127

Unhandled Exception while processing street_127
Exporting Object: street_126

Unhandled Exception while processing street_126

but the log doesn't say what is the problem ,and when i tried exporting those objects invidually the log didn't show any error.
those objects are normal cylinders converted to editable mesh

i hope i can understand what is the error to know how to solve it
