Can't see skinned object in Max oFusion pane

I have an object that is using a Biped skeleton, and a Skin modifier with a standard Max material. This object is inherited from another project, and is modeled with system unit == 1m (it's the TGE Elf character), so it's kind of small by default.

Anyway, I can't see the object in the oFusion viewport. When I add a light and a camera, which render the object just fine in the Max scanline renderer, I still can't see it (but I can see a giant X/Y/Z axis widget).

I'm using Direct3D renderer in Max, using Max 9, running 32-bit Windows XP SP2, using Direct3D in oFusion, on a GeForce 7400 graphics card.

What am I doing wrong?

Are all the bones added to the skin modifier (specially the root bone)?

See this article for more details on using skinned objects:

You can control the size of the axis helpers in the "Viewport" panel (or show/hide them if you want)

OK, so the bone was it. The problem now is that it looks like crap, probably because of scaled and inverted bones. In general, artists will always scale their bones, so exporters that don't deal with that are very frowned upon. Is there a roadmap somewhere where I can see if this is intended to be fixed?

You see, I don't mean to be rude or anything like that, but me and my co-worker have kind of a rule to NEVER scale bones, because it can (and will) give unexpected results in some cases... we just use the bones parameters (width height etc), that way there's no problems.

:) :o

If you can find good artists who are willing to work to that limitation, more power to you!

jwatte, you have to select the Bone Tools from the Animation menu... that way you can edit the bones without ever touching scale.
