I've build a little viewer which you can use to view your scenes 'ingame'.
Added a small demomap aswell.
Download OSM_Viewer.rar
Hope this helps.

Great idea! But I think you need to upload that file again: there is a CRC error starting from OgreMain.dll, and that means that the zip is missing the exe, amongst other things.

Great thing.... thanks....
Uhmm... is there a way how to configure the speed of the movement? (by keyboard)
And would it be possible to check collisons with objects? What i mean, is that it wouldn't be possible to go through the ground objects.

This is great news, i will test it as soon as possible
Have you implemented it like the Demo, where you can switch between cameras with a key?
In the demo all the exported animations are played automatically, it would be a good idea if implemented like the cameras, where all animations can be iterated with a key, and another key to set the state

To cycle cameras is the "c" key in the demo

Hello, can this viewer play skeletal animations and if it can how can I play them?

The regular mesh viewer - available from the Ogre download area - is the tool for that.

Hi,
I would very much be able to view scenes in the viewer with all animated camera movement, animation and skeleton/physique enabled.
Is this something that is easily done with the current viewer?

That an any hints on a decent hair shader and I would be one happy camper
Being an artist with limited knowledge of C++ and Ogre, this is just what I need to test these seemingly magnificent plugins. THANKS!!! man !

Hi, IFASS!
Could you provide us the OSM_Viewer source code? I'm very interested in the animation loading and updating methods (as they don't work very well on "Demo_oSceneLoader").
Thanks a lot!

Gotta dig therefore in my harddisks.. will find it somewhere, but takes some time
hey cool that would be really handy for me too. We can't get ofusion to work in our engine. Taking a look at that would be really handy.
If you were willing to share the source you would make a bunch of people really happy

Evak, can you build the demo application?
The link error that you (or your workmate) are having might be related at using different libs in your project, i.e. debug multithread, static or mixing with release libs
It has nothing to do with the scene loader lib
You might want to test changing your code path to VC2005 express if you want to work on a supported platform
yeah, at the moment the guy I'm working with doesn't have enough ram to run Visual studio, were sending him ram ASAP. At the moment he's using Codeblocks with VC7.1 compiler.
I'm an artist not a programmer, and find setting up the IDE really confusing. Trying to set it up myself at the moment in VC2005
He did get the demo app working so I'm not sure why he can't add your sceneloader. I'm used to adding include and lib dir's to my project paths so I'm not sure what to do with a cpp file. Anyway, I'll be digging around hoping to figure it out
have to get his engine to compile in VC2005 first
Anyway, would be cool to be able to have source and tweak the viewer with a basic UI and the ability to pick and load .mesh files, not just .OSM scene files. Doesn't seem to be a really simple and effortless .mesh viewer out there yet.

the link is dead! Could anyone link it or send to my gmail.com account.. prefix 'octamed' (figure that one out spam bots
)
Indeed, the link is dead. I need to download the viewer too... could someone host it up?

I'll see tonight if i can host it elsewhere :)
Not to rush you or anything, but it would help if you could host it as soon as possible.. even a site such as
rapidshare will do finely.
