Loader/Exporter customization possible?

Hi.

This looks great! Featurelist is really impressive!

The current project i'm working on will incorporate a VERY large world, and will use my own custom sceneManager, which will handle paging, dynamic loading etc.

Until we discovered oFusion, we were going to use either a custom MEL-script for maya, or a separate World-editor which would allow placing objects, sculpting terrain etc. The exporter would then split everything into zones (terrain pages) and use dynamic loading, but oFusion seems as a much better approach

Is it possible that i could add these features to the exporter, or will i be forced to write a converter application to split the scenes?

Nice work!

Any Scene Manager is supported, you can add your custom SM and oFusion will work with it

The CE version dont support extending the exported format, the Pro version does, in this version you can edit your scene as normal with your custom SM and World Geometry, and then automatically the oFusion system can request your SM for the specific per-object custom data, i.e what zone this object belongs, and export the scene with all your custom data

Sounds nice, i think this is what we're looking for.

How much does the Pro-version cost? And more important, is it currently avaliable for purchase?

Yes.

We would too, but that depends on when it will be released...

Does anyone know the basis on which the Pro edition would be sold? Would it be possible to buy a version for use in a specific project rather than per modeller? I'd rather not just pay for something for each modeller since they may not stay for long, leaving me out of pocket for no good reason.

We don't know, yet.
It could be per site, per modeler, per title, ...
So let's wait until it's been decided. :)
