Nice. But I notice that the Ogre DLL being used is still Dagon (1.2.1). Any reason for that?

How about Ofusion Pro? Do we need to simply apply the patches (instead of one full version like CE does).

hopefully there will be a new Pro release soon, I submitted a couple of nasty bug tickets in the last week that may warrant a new one.

Would be nice to have a proper Eihort release, in a couple of weeks Eihort will be 5 months old, and Ogre 1.6 can't be that far away now.

syedhs: Yes, in your account page a new version will be updated in the next hours, a notification will be sent when it is available

An important part of the users have their current projects with Dagon and others with Eihort, by using Dagon we provide support for all of them

The issue is that the next Ogre version will have major changes in the interfaces and the underlaying structure (mainly scene managers), with the current version, Dagon and Eihort users are supported, as we use a modified Ogre version, then we will need to support a Dagon, an Eihort and a Shoggoth versions

In any case the Eihort based version is being tested and hope it will be avaialble soon

The installer might have set the default render system (OpenGL)

Was your shader cg or hlsl?

Thanks for helping out the non (yet) paying community also, these fixes are always welcome. Still doesn't work on x64 though. Oh well :)

Does this version works with Autodesk 3ds Max design 2009?

Will there ever be a updated version of this?
That will work with the current version of 3dsmax? (x32,x64)

I hope there will be a new CE version soon, I'm having a hard time recommending Ofusion right now despite really loving pro which generally works flawlessly. But without a CE version since August 2007 and no support for Max 2008/2009 it's a bit hard to convince customers to use ofusion over something like OgreMax which is good but no where near as good as ofusion pro.

Hope a new CE version is released soon.

I must say I'm super confused. I read that it is good - and that people use it (or are you the only user Evak? ;)), but it seems impossible to find anything else out. The website is super outdated. The CE version is oooold. And if I wouldn't have seen the discussions here, I would have thought the thing is dead. There is zero information to find about the full version - not where to get it or even what the price is.

Sales are through the main Ofusion site. It's true that the CE edition is extremely outdated and it's a real shame because the Pro version has improved leaps and bounds. Especially where exporting skinned animated meshes are concerned.

There are a few of us that have the Pro version. I can think of about 8 people I have seen posting on here and there are probably more. The Pro version is a commercial product and would probably be too expensive for a hobby or for indies on a tight budget. We managed to get the cost covered by our client on a contract job.

If you can afford it it's definitely worth the price. I bought Pro quite early on when it was a little worse than the current CE edition, and have had continued support, some custom help some of which may have part responsible for the serializer OSM saving library and ShaderFX bridge. My only disappointment with Ofusion is that the CE version hasn't been updated in so long it really doesn't do the product much justice.

Lets hope a new CE version is released soon.

As a note, by the December count, oFusion Pro is used by 285 companies and individuals (with 563 licenses, at that time), with names including "Square Enix" china, "Deck13" Germany, "Fraunhofer FIT" institute, University of Udine (Dipartimento di Matematica e Informatica) Italy and our beloved Evak

Maybe you're misunderstanding my issue. I'm not doubting really that people use it (despite my little joke ;)) - I'm just finding it hard to get proper information. What is the price? Where do I buy? Anything really. There is nothing on the website - and any google search only puts up threads in this forum.

Just saying that it would be better for potential costumers, to have the website up to date and supply enough information for evaluation and purchase.

I'm on the same boat- curious about details. Then it dawned on me- it's one of those "if you have to ask, it's probably too expensive" sort of deals.

Which is really a bummer, because now that shaderFX is free for the indies, a working CE edition would be awesome. Though it doesn't seem likely anytime soon (assumption). Of course, I'm only really interested in the shader export stuff, and between learning how to convert an .FX file to HLSL/Ogre mats, and with the possibility of an Ogre export feature being added to FX Composer soon, I won't really be needing oFusion in the long run...

At any rate, oFusion is pretty slick, and I hope to see an updated CE edition soon so I get the bug to go and use the thing.

Hi,

I also would like to have all the information about the OFusion licencing system and pricing, and I don't find it clear at all :(
A "Buy" page on your website would be great.

Thx,

Phil

Pretty much. I could only afford it because I got a contract job using ogre and the client agreed to cover the cost of ofusion. It costs more than most indie game engines (Torque, TV3D, Unity, Neoaxis etc) and is pretty much aimed at developers working on commercial projects. I don't know if there's some kind of educational version or anything.

To find out the price you can email the developers or contact Lioric, who seems to be in charge and the point of contact in the Ogre community.

Um, i don't suppose there's a none commercial licence is there? (meaning free?) LOL

I find this really confusing too. Maybe not the lack of pricing info - it's not so unusual to hide this - but the fact the website makes it look like a totally unattractive, out of date product. I've heard good things from user(s) but but it appears the developer makes no effort at all to sell their product.

We're one of those "commercial developers", doing non-gaming work - but I'd be very worried to invest in licenses when it looks so suspicious. Maybe one of the developers can answer - or contact me directly if you want to start a dialog.

Also - what IS the latest Pro version and what Ogre version does it map against? 1.6? 1.7?
