Does oFusion require the MeshUpgrade?

Hello,

I posted here:

Asking about OgreMeshUpgrade, and whether I need it. (It's easy to overlook the fact that there's a new post on that sticky thread, so I'm going with a new thread.)

Basically I'm wondering if I need to use the OgreMeshUpgrade with oFusion. I have oFusion_pro_1.896 installed.

So, three questions:

1) Are the meshes that are sent to the oFusion viewer in Max automatically upgraded along the lines of what OgreMeshUpgrade does?

2) Do the meshes I export using my version of oFusion need to be upgraded using the OgreMeshUpgrade tool?

3) Does checking "Generate Tangent Vectors" provide some benefit that would otherwise be provided by the OgreMeshUpgrade tool (were I not using oFusion)?

Thanks!

You dont need to use the mesh upgrader tool

Meshes created are fully compilant with the current Ogre engine versions

If you have a mesh that is displayed incorrectly, it might be related to a different issue, in which case, if you provide the scene (or more details on it) we can review it

There is no difference to create the Tangent vectors with the mesh upgrader tool, if you have tangent vectors created in your mesh (with the "Generate Tangent Vectors" option) and then you use the mesh upgrader tool, the tangent vectors buffer will be recreated

Hi Lioric,

Thanks for the reply, that's good to hear.

I guess one reason I thought the OgreMeshUpgrade might be necessary is because that thread I linked to - the one that discusses the OgreMeshUpgrade tool - was a sticky thread, which suggested to me that it might be something I need to know.

Might I perhaps need the OgreMeshUpgrade tool in the future, like if the Ogre engine is updated ahead of oFusion? Just trying to figure out how this works.

Thanks again!
