For the alpha blend issue, seems that you are using the inverted blend method, is your material an Ogre Material? if not, you should upgrade it to an Ogre Material and select the correct blend method and alpha value (128 will work most of the time) for the Pass
In the shadows issue, is this only present when shadows are active? what shadow technique are you using? if you use another shadow technique, is the issue still present?
Test it with only the house object in the scene, with the clear scene, select the object and click "Update Sel", is this issue still present?
In the second image, the shadows are right, but in the next image not, what is the scene difference between those images, as they are the same meshes

sorry for my english, here i go

i was trying to fix this issue in every way, i'm using the ogre material, the pass, and the tech. but some thing more strange have hapen 1 mesh if the same material aplyed, was not inverted, crazy stuff
almost forget, some times the planes elices of the windmill become invisibel in the front view and visible in the back view (inverted to).
In the shadows issue, is this only present when shadows are active? what shadow technique are you using? if you use another shadow technique, is the issue still present?
no, happens when shadows are off to, and with diferents objects, the windmill, or the desk etc...
Test it with only the house object in the scene, with the clear scene, select the object and click "Update Sel", is this issue still present?
if going clearing the scene and updading it, it happens again with or without the others objects
In the second image, the shadows are right, but in the next image not, what is the scene difference between those images, as they are the same meshes
yep thei are the same, i continue clearing the scene and updading her and the obeject become black

Que pasa vegetal...
Well, while searching for alpha related posts I´ve found your´s and seen that you are having similar problems to the ones I´ve had with balck appearing objets.
chek my post, it may help you.

Now I continue making test, I dont advise you to use the first metod since I´ll "override" the lighting in the scene, appearing always too bright, it may be nice for sunny scenes, but if you what to make a sunset scene it wont look fine.
About your alpha plant, eih, I should be as easy as inverting the alpha channel in photoshop, no?..
