hi all,

I recently hurted myself on a little problem. When I'm trying to setup my material in 3Dsmax (i'm using version 9), in the material panel, under Ofusion Pass, there's 2 drop-down menu, pixel shader(program) and vertex shader(program). but here's the problem, both of them are now empty...

I tried to re-install Ofusion, switched my rendering driver from directX to openGL and vice-versa, still have both drop-down menu empty.

is that a bug or a limitation of oFusion Community Edition ?

i'm using oFusion Community Edition 1.8.6

thx for the help!

hmm, most common reason for not seeing shaders in the drop down lists is that you have to have a Ofusion Ogre viewport enabled for shaders to be avaliable, I don't think they are exported without an ofusion viewport.

Just one of those things that make you feel a bit silly when it happens. I have slapped myself more than once with the exact same problem :).

Hope thats all it was...

ho well, i guess i gonna sleep less( or more in that case) silly tonight. :D
thx for the help, that was exactly the problem.

but basically, if i want to build a texture with pixel shader and vertex shader, i dont have choice to activate the Ofusion viewport ? that's a bit annoying since Ofusion viewport is slowing my 3Dsmax response... :?

you only need it on to export or set the shader program. If you go back to a max viewport, the settings are still going to be there, you just can't edit or export the shaders till you reactivate. But the correct programs will remain checked.

Your settings are stored with the max file. So it's something minor that takes a moment to get used to. If your going to edit the shader and want to see the changed you probably want it turned on for the duration. And probably want to check it looks correct before exporting your scene :).

In upcoming versions the shaders will be editable and exportable when the viewport is enabled or disabled
