Hello, I need to export the shaders from oFusion, but when I select the option to export the shaders it does not export them. Am I doing something wrong or is it a known problem. Thanks!

The shader export option (and the shader code editing option) should be enabled on the Pro version only

But you can manually copy the shaders to your folder, see this post for information about its location

Hi

So what is exported in the none pro version?

Does the iinformation of textures, shader file name and parameters export at least?

Or do the none pro have to figure that out by hand? It would be very messy for big scenes and levels...

And is there any plans to support FX files.
We use a commerisail material editor that creates FX files.
WHen is the pro version ready then :)

I will clarify, i was refering to the "Shader Export option" that is in the export dilaog, this setting when active, will export the shaders created in max (to ".shader" and ".program" files), as the Pro version has a shader code editor

The shader settings used in materials will be exported with any version, CE too, so the texture information, shader references and parameters will be exported in the material file(s)

You dont have to figure that out by hand, its all automatic

About the FX files, we dont have plans to support it, but if more users request it we might add its support

If you need this for a project, and need it now, on our support service, we can customize oFusion to your needs or to your pipeline, i.e add FX file support

The Pro version will be announced soon

OK

Great, you got me worried there for a while....

Yes I think a FX support would be great.

I do have a plug-in for the material editor to max that works but they have made there own material plug-in to handle it not compatible with OFusuion view port of course. But it also exports an fx file to a given folder.
Which Ofusion can load convert and let us use.

I was thinking of a converter that would look in the shader folder on a timer base and convert newly created or changed fx files to Ogre format that couild directlly be used with Ofusion if ofusion could have a reload on change functionallity as well, maybe you lot have a better idea?

There is also a SDK to the material editor which can be used to create direct connections to 3D engines. I havn't looked at that yet though, that would require me to be able to recompile the Ogre used with Ofusuion though, things we need to do with our scene manager and other stuff as well I guess.

Well good luck with the pro release. Looking forward to see it.
