Will there be support for max 2010 soon?

Oh yeah I saw that 2010 is out but no trial on the autodesk site when I last looked. 2010 has built in support for Mental Mill. Wonder if those shaders can be converted with the evaluate button like other .fx and shaderFX shaders.

Hope the loading and viewport startup times improved over 2009. 2009 is very frustrating on my system.

Looks like it's out now. The #dsMax 2010 trial version can be downloaded from the Autodesk website at http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/mform?siteID=123112&id=10083915

Looking forward to Ofusion being updated. Maybe with some new goodies ;)

We upgrade all workstations next week.. So would be nice to migrate ofusion too..

Trying this out now, hopefully all good.

Now all I need is for a couple of outstanding support tickets to be looked at!

Its working in both 2009 and 2010 here though I am having a problem with shaderFX. For starters it's not saving the source files in the material shader definitions. Haven't looked much further yet. Though all those 0's in the parameters look suspicious too :(

fragment_program NMapSpecValue_ps hlsl
{
source
uses_adjacency_information false
entry_point f
target ps_2_0
column_major_matrices true
optimisation_level default

default_params

param_named SpecValue float4 1 0 0 0
param_named light1Color float4 0 0 0 0
}
}

vertex_program NMapSpecValue_vs hlsl

uses_adjacency_information false
entry_point v
target vs_2_0
column_major_matrices true
optimisation_level default

default_params

I went back to oFusion_pro_hf_370oECMS because I couldn't get shaders to export correctly from the latest exporter, in either max2009 or 2010. Submitted a support ticket a couple of days ago.

Anyone else having the same problem?

I have not got it to run at all yet, downloaded latest directx just to be sure, but have not tested again,
tomorrow is a day off, so I won't test until Friday..

It works with the x86 version, but not x64..
Opened a ticket, let's hope it get it to run soon :)

hedphelym I haven't tried 32-bit Max 2010 but I'm having the exact same issues with the 64-bit version.

Hopefully there will be an updated installer soon. I did get a response to my support ticket regarding the shader export problem I mentioned in a previous post.

The issue has been identified and a solution is being produced, it will be provided in an update during this weekend or early next week

A notification will be sent to you when the update is redy for download

With a bit of luck there will be some other fixes too, especially such a big one as 64bit not working.

I've not had any intial problems with 32bit 2010 and newest version of Pro so far, so hopefully all is good besides what has already been mentioned.

Looks like the new version was just released. I Don't have a 64bit OS so can't test though the changelog says it was fixed along with my shader problem :)

Improved Max 2010 64bits support (some specific machines had an issue in this platform)

Imporved Morpher support on Max 2010 64bits

Added "Border" option to the texture address mode list in Texture Unit texmap

Added "Border Color" to Texture Unit texmap (displayed only when the texture address mode is set to Border)

Fixed shader source filenames not being produced in the shader definition file when a material was Evaluated from DirectX to oFusion Material

Hope nvidia can fix that soon...!

What's the proper procedure for upgrading from one version of ofusion to another wrt installation and license activation? I tried upgrading to 1.9.73 and I've now managed to somehow stuff up my license.

Just apply the update to your current machine, there is no need to uninstall or modify your current installation before the update or any hotfix
