The beauty of the Internet is you always have translation choices :)

or
http://translate.google.com/translate_t

Formatting is a little messed up but translation is very readable..

I had a quick look on the tutorials, they are not very long. If you really want to translate them to Ogrish language...sorry, English :) let me know. It should not take me very long to do it.
(Forgot to say that I am french but been living in England for about 10 years now)

I will be on holiday and i will not have internet. The webmaster(a friend)will use my account on this forum to answere your question.

Do you think a tutorial on Joints and actors will be useful?

manowar

Well no problem, I will probably have some time this weekend to translate what's already there.

Nice thanks for the translation for the tutorials, they just need updating.

I need a good installation guide since I havent managed to get any physics libary working yet with Ogre.

Im came sooo close with OgreNewt but oh well :(

1) Shapes - TriangleMeshShape
This shape is the exact reproduction of the mesh. It is really resource consuming and is only available for static objects (wrong)

2) Missing shape
PrismShape( 0.5,2,8 )

I suppose it would be a better idea to translate betajaen manual to french for those who have trouble with english. The best person to write a tutorial without errors is certainly betajaen himself...but I am sure he would not mind any help ! The most difficult part will be to keep betajaen humour in the translation :)
Any talented french humorist in this forum ? :)

@mtx123

Actually it is right. TriangleMeshShapes aren't very useful with dynamic Actors they can't collide with other TriangleMeshShapes and it's quite stressful on the solver. Besides NxOgre won't let you use them in dynamic Actors.

@manowar

You should wait until I've finished ;)

If anyone does translate it into other languages though, I will host it on NxOgre.org for them and make a big deal about it.

1)for a short installation guide,i will do it when NxOgre 1.0 will be release.
2)what is PrismShape? :oops: :oops:
3)I could try to translate NxOgre in French ,but it's right that it will be dificult to keep the humour!(in fact,it's greate betajaen, manual is so fun^^)

Hello.I am thinking of writing a tutorial on joints and actores.
What do you think should absolutly go on this tutorial?

gugus

19-11-2007 21:01:39

I am having some question for (as usual^^).
could you please give me a definition of an actor,a joint and of character controller?I am nearly shure of what it mean, but i do not want to write something wrong in my tutorial!

Edit:I have another question:what's a trigger?

betajaen

19-11-2007 21:10:33

Actor = physical object with a collision model (or shape) with some optional mass. i.e. Pencil, Dustbin or House
Joint = a thing to join two actors together; such as a car door, an arm, or a fridge magnet
Character = An intelligent actor to help you add human characters, and control them at ease without worrying about the physics.
Trigger = An actor which on an event which another actor passes through it it calls a piece of code.
