Are PhysX' crossplatform claims a sham?

While reading this thread I became suspicious of the claims that PhysX is crossplatform (by that I mean, win/lin/mac.)
http://www.ogre3d.org/phpBB2addons/viewtopic.php?t=6311

Ageia states that hardware drivers are only available for windows, but they do not state that the SDK is dependant upon the hardware drivers.

Is this actually the case? Is PhysX essentially a windows only product at the moment due to this HW driver issue?

Edit: edited for grammar

Nope. PhysX runs on Linux, I've tried it, and if you want to use it on the Mac you need to buy the source and port it yourself.

Not a sham at all.

Thank you for the confirmation.

The discussion in the thread I referenced in the OP was just a little bit misleading.

I can tell you for a fact that I know that it will work on linux, I just cannot get it to work. But I would also like to point out that not only am I not using a supported platform, nor am I useing a supported package type.
