Why is this so damn impossible

All I want to do is get a cube on the screen with physics.

Ive worked on a computer all my life
ive created a few ogre games before
I even went to school for game design and programming

and i want to friggen kill myself after trying to get stupid friggen ogre ode to work.
why the hell is it so hard.
just dont create something if you cant provide simple step by step directions for how it works. all it does is create horrible frusteration for the benefit of a few geniuses that can figure it out and leaves anyone else in horrible pain.
like ive followed about 3 different sets of instructions, tried all these different things, followed about 4 threads about errors cause ive encountered every single error and just as i finally think i have ogreode compiled i get 8 unresolved external symbol errors that I cant find any information about.

why do you people do this to people like me?
like an updated page for the current versions of the software with some nice details instructions isnt so much to ask is it?
it would take way less time than the time people like me go through killing themselves to make it work.
