problems with body falling down

I have an Ode body whitch attached with a scene node , I set the body mass then it works well.but ,when the body joints with another body (using a boll joint) it couldnt fell down.Why? I cant handle it anyone help me~

does the other body fall down when you dont attach them? i have not used a ball joint yet, what about other kind of joints?
