[edit] solved this by using the release version of Mogre.dll, so I have probably messed up the debug-version somehow [/edit]

I am trying to make my own custom cursor, using overlays, but right now I am stranded, because I can't figure out how to get an instance of the OverlayManager.
In the samples I have seen it is supposed to be accesed through a singleton, but I haven't got that possibility (see below).
could someone tell me what I am doing wrong or point me in the right direction.
