Greetings,
Just thought I'd drop a little preview for a new tutorial I've been working on for the next release of NxOgre: x10 - NxDomino Line. You can check out a screenshot here:
NxScene - Domino Line
The tutorial is on the subject of NxScenes, using .nxscene scripts.

1024 dominos. The final version will have about 1/4 of that amount, for those of us out there that don't have speed demon machines.

wow good, maybe you position the stones in some kind of circular way or maybe you built a small obstacle-curse.

I have intentions to make the scene a little more complex, for sure. I was thinking of having the dominos go in a short straight line, up some stairs, down some stairs, straight again, smooth 90 degree turn, straight a bit, and a final 90 degree turn with the final domino dropping adjacent to the starting domino. I'm still struggeling with whether or not I want the camera to follow a path, keeping a close eye on the action... It would help with framerates if done right, as well as keep viewers tuned to the action. I probably won't do that though, just to give people freedom.
One story about Rube Goldberg holds that, while sleep-walking barefoot in a cactus field, he screamed out an idea about a self-operating napkin.
Ever played 'The Incredible Machine'? I love that stuff. That's why I'm playing with NxOgre so much
.

As soon as i thought about it, I forgot the name too! Took me about 5 minutes of pacing back in forth in the lab I work in (people eyeing me the whole time) trying to think of it.
Did you see the little mod someone made for half-life 2 to show a rube goldberg machine? Why are they so interesting? I once saw a movie 30 or so minutes long of a rube goldberg machine running in a giant warehouse. I watched the whole thing. Is that sad?

No, not really. I watched the same one.
