Fellow NxOgrerian! :)

I dont know if I should spread the news widely, but since it is available in a public forum (Ageia's) so I think this should be okay.

*drum roll*... Ageia driver which previously used to be huge(30MB++) is now available as small as a 3MB package! But you have to explicitly request for it, which is in the 2.6.4 forum. The thread title is pretty descriptive but I cant remember it (I cant access Ageia forum currently because my internet somehow turns to turtle). So jump in there, request that you want the file, and the privilege will be opened to you.

I downloaded 2.7.3 version and the file name is AGEIA_PhysX_Game_Installer_273.msi. The size is 3022KB

Nice!

I thought they was going to provide some sort of "you decide what versions you want", but this is just as good.

is it allowed to redistribute the file(s)? might be a good idea to have it available for download right here in the forum. i can even host it if you want.

It would be pointless of Ageia to release it otherwise. But to host it, Ageia may have some opinions about that.

by the way,i have some question with PhysX dlls.If I want to redistribuate my prgramme,I have to give PhysX dlls with it,isn't it?And this dlls are only availaible in the SDK,so what happend if i redistribuate these dlls?

As I understand it. Like Ogre and the other libs just bundle up the dll's as normal. Obviously don't include the headers (because that's stupid and against the license agreement). The user will need to install the mini-PhysX driver setup thing, but if your clever enough you could make your application installer install it silently for you.

It's in the developer forum but strangely I can't seem to find the link from the main Ageia page anymore, I haven't got the direct link on this pc so I can't try that.

Hahaha it is weird that you can no longer access the thread by clicking Phsyx 2.6.x at the left pane - I tried searching for the thread until page 8 or so, so I think Ageia thinks it is better be hidden.

Anyway, this is the thread URL:- http://devsupport.ageia.com/ics/forum/Client/Common/ContentView.aspx?contentID=57687
If this doesn't work, then maybe you have to wait for 2.8.0

Yeah that link doesh't work. But on their forums it says not to install it, as it will mess up the Sdk, so they took it down

Maybe you need to login and enter the forum first, and the copy paste the url to a new Firefox screen - it works for me. But Agiea forum software is sux, anyone can attest to that

I think Ageia reps point it to a number of forummers who decide to hack up the Phsyx DLLs and bundle them themselves. It is plain incorrect if Ageia's own bundled mini driver will mess up the SDK as it is coming from them themselves.
