We keep saying that OGRE is deliberately not a game engine, and
recently there have been some really interesting examples of it being
used for other purposes:
- fijuu2 is an interactive audio/visual installation which toured the uk as part of Cybersonica 06 recently
- EDM Studio have produced a 3D medical visualisation system as part of their aim of creating interactive virtual reality exhibits for museums and industry
- Seule avec loup renders choregraphics and users can interact with it via motion which is captured with a laser
- JCVR Head Inspection is a simulation to train inspectors of Harley Motorcycle engine parts
Whilst we love to see game projects made with OGRE too, it's always
refreshing and constantly fascinating to see the wider range of
applications using OGRE as a purpose-built drop-in rendering solution.
