Once again I’m going to cherry-pick a few items from our ever-active community to highlight here on the news page, and this time I’m concentrating on the tools landscape. Many people have seen the opportunity to take advantage of Ogre’s tightly defined scope and integration friendliness, to combine it with other libraries and their own code to create a range of tools. Here’s a quick summary list of those that have emerged or have had updates in the last couple of months, either for Ogre or just using Ogre:
- Ogre Studio (editor)
- Game Object Oriented Framework (GOOF) (game engine and editor)
- NeoAxis Engine (game engine and editor)
- Particle Accelerator (particle editor)
- Scythe (physics editor)
- RealMatter (soft body physics system)
- DWARF (world editing)
This is just a selection of the tools that are coming out of the community, be sure to browse the forums to keep an eye on the full range of activity out there. Also remember to check the Addons Forum for discussions about the many add-on libraries you can use with Ogre.
