psyclonist recently announced on our forums that Yake 0.3.0 has just been released:
"Yake is a cross-platform object-oriented game and VR
engine, used in several real-life projects. Among other features it
provides abstraction layers for graphics, physics, audio and scripting
as well as data-driven high-level components for managing complex
models consisting of physical and graphical and other kind of objects
as well as scriptable application/game entities. Of course, the
official graphics plugin for Yake is using OGRE."
Congrats to the Yake team on this release!

We just discovered that OGRE and CEGui made an appearance at SIGGRAPH this year! JeDI pointed out that DefColStudio, "a simulation framework consisting of implementations of various
published methods for deformable modeling and collision handling" is the application used to demonstrate the paper Meshless Deformations Based on Shape Matching,
and it uses OGRE for rendering and CEGui for the interface. You can
browse some very nice images and download the demo from their site.

We're pleased to make another maintenance release available for those using the stable version of OGRE, Azathoth (v1.0.x). The main source release, SDKs and command line tools have been updated and are available from the Downloads page as per usual. The bugfixes and non-interface breaking changes in this release are described in the full detail of this news posting.
For those of you using the unstable Dagon (v1.1.x) version, please note that fixes applied to Azathoth are merged periodically into Dagon, but that there may be a day or two delay in some cases. Once again, details of the Dagon roadmap, porting notes and progress log can be seen in the wiki to allow you to see what you'll be getting, and what code changes will be required. Dagon shaping up nicely but is still a couple of months away from official release yet, although early adopters can of course get it from CVS.

Fragfist, a multiplayer 3D action game featuring vehicles has now been added to the Featured Projects area. It was written by a student team at the Berlin Games Academy, and is due to be presented at the Games Convention '05 in Leipzig next week. Incredibly they developed this in 4 months with just one coder, 3 artists and a sound guy!
You can also follow the team's announcements, and download a demo, in this forum thread.
